Luis Boa Morte and Ákos Buzsáky were training with Pompey today.
The duo joined in with Michael Appleton’s men as they prepared for Saturday’s visit of Scunthorpe to Fratton Park.
Appleton currently has two spare spots in his squad – with the boss operating in the Football League’s 20-man limit.
He has earmarked one spot for a new striker to add competition to the likes of Izale McLeod and Luke Rodgers.
Rodgers, however, has been sidelined after picking up an injury in the defeat at Notts County last weekend.
Former West Ham forward Boa Morte, who has 28 international caps for Portugal, was last with Toronto in the MLS.
Prior to that he spent brief spells with Greek side Larissa and South African outfit Orlando Pirates.
Buzsáky was a key man in QPR’s promotion to the Premier League.
But he was released at the end of last season and has been linked with Bristol City and Nottingham Forest.
