Webster helps England under-19s to victory

Adam Webster came on at the start of the second half for England under-19s last night

Adam Webster came off the bench to help England under-19s to a 1-0 victory over Finland last night.

The Pompey defender was brought on by under-19 boss – and former Fratton Park favourite – Noel Blake at the start of the second half, with the match goalless.

And Webster played a part in seeing the young Three Lions triumph at Telford as England took the friendly honours thanks to an injury-time penalty from Everton’s John Lundstram.

It was the second England under-19 appearance for Chichester-born Webster, who has forged his way into Pompey’s first-team plans this season.

Also featuring in the England team last night was James Ward-Prowse, who grew up in Portsmouth but now plays for Southampton.
