Guy Whittingham vented his frustration as Pompey conceded from two set-pieces as they went down to Crawley today.
The Blues sacrificed a first-half lead as they lost 2-1 at Fratton Park.
It proved a largely-even encounter, although Pompey were poor in the final third for periods of the game.
That was costly in the final reckoning as Mat Sadler’s free-kick levelled Paul Benson’s opener.
A corner was then worked to Nicky Adams who crossed for Billy Clarke to net the winner with 17 minutes remaining.
Caretaker boss Whittingham was unhappy with plenty of aspects of his team’s play.
He said: ‘I was disappointed with our decision making in the final third from a lot of good positions at times.
‘Then at the other end, we conceded from two set-pieces – and that is annoying.
‘That’s something we thought we’d cut out from our play.’
The scorer of Pompey’s goal was disputed with Benson and Crawley defender Scott Davies close to each other as Scott Allan’s cross was deflected home.
Whittingham thought Benson got the final touch, though.
He said: ‘I thought it was Benson’s goal. He deserves it. He’s worked hard for it.’
