OUR top team of tipsters didn’t cover themselves in glory on day one of Glorious - so you might say the only way is up.

Two of our panel - Channel 4 Racing’s Tanya Stevenson and racecourse MD Adam Waterworth - found one winner each from the seven races.

And if that doesn’t sound over-impressive, it is compared to the other trio, Observer sports editor Steve Bone, Goodwood member Tony Castley and Coral’s Dave Stevens, who each ended day one with a big fat zero.

You wouldn’t think they were playing for a £100 prize to donate to an equine charity of their choice, donated by Coral. But they are.

Here are their day-two tips, with one other tip from us: don’t put your whole mortgatge on any of them.

Tanya Stevenson: 2.00 Number One London, 2.35 Medrano, 3.10 Solow, 3.45 King Of Rooks, 4.20 Promising Run, 4.55 Only Joking, 5.25 Accession.

Adam Waterworth: 2.00 Gavlar, 2.35 Scottish, 3.10 Solow, 3.45 King of Rooks, 4.20 Alamode, 4.55 Forest Maiden, 5.25 Pastoral Player.

Tony Castley: 2.00 Teak, 2.35 Highland Reel, 3.10 Solow, 3.45 King Of Rooks, 4.20 Winter Rose, 4.55 Tears Of The Sun, 5.25 Mime Dance.

Steve Bone: 2.00 Air Squadron, 2.35 Disegno, 3.10 Solow, 3.45 Kachy, 4.20 Winter Rose, 4.55 Edge of Heaven, 5.25 Fiftyshadesofgrey.

Dave Stevens: 2.00 Ridgeway Storm, 2.35 Scottish, 3.10 Solow, 3.45 Kachy, 4.20 Sunny Spirit, 4.55 Imshivalla, 5.25 Ishiamber.
