Gosport & Fareham make the short journey to Bognor still looking for their first away win in London south west two (2pm).

Director of rugby Jamie Daly is expecting nothing less than a bruising battle.

But he reckons his players are ready to right the wrongs of the previous meeting between the two south-coast clubs when Gosport lost 29-23.

‘We’re expecting a hard-fought game, similar to the one which we had with them at Gosport Park back in September,’ he said.

‘Tomorrow is the time to put right the mistakes we made after getting ourselves into a winning position in that first home game of the season and then ending up on the wrong end of 29-23 scoreline.

‘With four tries and a bonus point on the board in 33 minutes, we then gave away the win.

‘You have got to learn from things like that and I believe our players will show they are a much better team now than they were then.

‘We need to play like we did last week when we tackled well, defended well and created four excellent tries that saw off Effingham & Leatherhead.

‘We certainly won’t be underestimating the task we face because we haven’t won away from home this season.

‘Bognor are only one place below us in the league and will want the win as much as we do because we both need points to ensure we stay in this league for next season.’

Daly will name an unchanged back division but, in the pack, skipper Tim Snowden returns after a one-match rest.

Trevor Westerman replaces 49-year-old prop Dai Whitehead, who retired after last week’s fine 26-3 win over Effingham & Leatherhead.

Toby Woodford also returns to the second row.

Ash Wakefield starts on the flank, while Paul Connor could make his first appearance of the season from the bench. Sam Foster is also on standby.

Gosport & Fareham: Heron, Thorne, Dugan Wayne, Moggeridge, Mulholland, Duncombe, Dugan Wes, Burton, Clark, Westerman, Pollard, Snowden, Wakefield, Madigan, Connor, Reynolds, Foster.

n Petersfield cross the Solent to take on Sandown & Shanklin in London south-west three.

n In Hampshire one, there is derby action at Burnaby Road where United Services host Fareham Heathens.
