Celebrations went on long into the night at Burnaby Road as United Services clinched the Hampshire one title and promotion back into the London League.

Services scored seven tries on their way to a 49-19 win over Farnborough on Saturday.

And their 17th straight success of the season ended a 15-year wait for promotion.

‘It was a real battle up front against a big pack,’ said Services director of rugby Matt Davis.

‘Our three-quarters pulled off some outstanding moves and some of our counter-attacking was incredible.’

Graham Butterworth, Keith Molyneux, Jimmy Taylor, Luke Peters, Sam Porter and Tom Blewitt – with two – scored tries for Services, while Ben Smith produced a faultless kicking display.
