Adam Bobat rolled in a superb 60 break as Metrose.com thrashed 147D 10-2 to set up a close run-in at the top of the Gosport & Fareham League.
Terry Pugh, Steve Spillett and Steve Moutrey also won for the Stoke side who made ground on leaders 147 Legends.
They are now just nine points off the top spot – but have a crucial game in hand.
Their race for the title was helped as the Legends slumped to a surprising 8-4 defeat at home to Mayfair Jesters.
Colin Norton got his usual two frames, and made a 33 break, but Paul West (31), John Wyatt (35), Darren Tooth and Paddy Hopkins were all on fine form for the Jesters.
Teenager Mark Lloyd continued his good run of form by knocking in a 63 break – the highest of the week – as his Stoke 155 side beat HMS Collingwood 8-4.
The defeat leaves the Fareham naval base joint bottom with Hill Park C who were thrashed 10-2 by Mayfair Masters.
Potting machine Jordan Winbourne rolled in his usual big breaks – this time a 53 and 46.
But it was good enough to earn only a draw against Andy Pycroft.
In division two, Paul Walder hit a 31 break as his Mayfair Wonders side demolished 147 Select 7-5.
Leaders LWMC Nomads’ poor run continued as they went down 9-3 at home to Stoke Sharks.
It looked like they were going to run away with the title but their lead at the top is now just two points over 147 Debut who romped to an 8-4 win against Mayfair Mixups.
