Craneswater beaten by rivals Copnor

The latter beat Steve Cole by 150-82 thanks to his start of just under three figures.

Boulton also made 51 and 49 breaks in the league and Colin Rowe won his.

However, with two missing they had little chance as John Wyatt beat Tony Hansford and Stacey Wearn hammered Cole.

And it was particularly tough for Cole, who was still 27 points away from clearing his handicap, by the end of the contest.

Copnor C returned from Portchester X with a 4-3 success.

Darren Inch, Ashley Bendall and Mark Kingswell were on target for the Castlemen.

But the city side took the bonus point by a 849-795 margin.

Phil Ledington, John V. and Barry Mihell made sure after Dave Lawrence ran Kingswell close and was pipped by just two points.

Copnor F climbed up alongside Leigh Park in division two with a 4-3 verdict against Copnor Xcels.

Kevin Figgins and Andy Chambers put the Xcels ahead, beating young Rob Derry and Leroy Grigg.

Darren Harper hit back with a massive win over Dave Gowing, then Gary Wilton made it 2-2.

Tony Horten restored the lead but Gary Green held on against Gerry Godden to decide it.

The Workies lost their unbeaten record at Pompey Royals.

Thing were good early on as Danny Lumsden, Richard Burnett and son Richie made it 3-0.

Then the game turned around as Paul Chivers and Chad Wainwright won by a distance and Jon Challacombe clinched the 4-3 result with a 150-125 over Bill Parsons.

Cowplain also sneaked a 4-3 at Craneswater R with a 725-721 aggregate.

The Southsea side took the lead through Harry Yard, 38 break, and Andy White.

It was soon two apiece as Dave Pitman and Will Garrett crushed Pete Parsons and Andy Carter.

Chris Bishop registered a break of 34 to beat James Curtis.

And a late score from Richard Williams just pulled the visitors over the winning line.
