Mike Talmondt hit top gear to lift the Craneswater Cup with a fine display against Andy Boulton in the final.

Breaks of 41, 72 and 61 proved enough for Talmondt to bag a 3-1 success.

Craneswater Club manageress Terri White then presented the trophy and £110 first prize.

Boulton had to be content with £50 after his strong run to the final.

The duo had contrasting journeys to the trophy decider.

Talmondt eased through 3-0 against Mark Turner in his semi-final.

Boulton survived a black-ball game in a dramatic final-frame decider against Andy White.

In the quarter-finals, Andy White beat Kendel Chivers 2-1.

Boulton got the better of Brad White 2-0, Turner saw off Gary Collett 2-0 and Talmondt defeated Rob Kirby by the same score.

A total of 32 players battled it out in the competition, organised by White and John Peers, at the Southsea club.
