Locks Heath swimmers were in full flow in the Hants and South Coast Invitational at Woking.

It was an inexperienced squad who made the trip for the competition.

But they were not daunted and delivered some outstanding performances.

A total of 29 personal bests were set by the club’s swimmers.

The star performer of the evening was 10-year-old May Fletcher.

She came first in her 50m freestyle and butterfly races.

Those performances also helped her secure the overall victory in her age group.

Isla Croll, nine, produced some good individual scores from her swims and finished in ninth place in her age category.

The good results continued for the team.

Talented 11-year-old Joseph Ford finished sixth in his age group, with new bests in all the events.

Ella Richardson Fitt and Joshua Beaudro finished in sixth place in their respective 50m backstroke events.

The other Locks Heath swimmers to take part were Scott Hutin, Matthew and Taylor Collins, Joshua Norris, Mia Day, Isabel Barbary and Imogen Crowney.

The club also came away with fourth place out of 11 in the 10-year-old combined team scores.

Overall, it was a very well-run event and a great experience for the younger swimmers.
