NOT many martial arts instructors can boast of being certified under the teachings of kung-fu master Bruce Lee.
That's exactly what Fareham's Jason Boh can proudly claim, though.
Boh was spotted training by Dan Inosanto, the best friend of the late great Lee.
Inosanto was one of only three students who was taught the unique style of Jeet-Kune-Do by Lee.
And after being impressed with what Boh had to offer, he agreed to certify him as an official instructor of Lee's martial art.
Boh travelled up to London last weekend to meet with Inosanto.
The Anchorage Park Community Centre and Cams Hill School teacher will now be making regular trips to Los Angeles for lessons with the master.
And the 33-year-old is in no doubt the experience will vastly improve his coaching abilities.
Boh said: 'Being certified by Dan was a proud moment which not only puts Portsmouth on the map for martial arts but Hampshire and the whole of the south.
'When Dan Inosanto watches over a class than places go fast and being certified by him is a really big deal.
'I have an unselfish outlook. I will teach everything I know to anyone who comes to me. everything I know.
'It may take me a while but I will.
'There are some instructors out there who will know, say 10 things, but only teach three things. However, if I know 10 things then I will teach my classes 10 things.
'It really is an excting opportunity for me and one that I hope can benefit many other people.'
Lee is regarded by many as the most world's influential martial artist.
He was the first Asian star to raise interest in martial arts across Europe and the USA.
Lee found world fame by starring in various Hollywood kung-fu films before dieing of brain edema aged 32 in 1973.
Inosanto is the only student of Lee remaining who certifies others in Jeet-Kune-Do.
Boh was recommended to him by his instructor of the past two years, Terry Barnett.
Boh has been studying martial arts for 24 years.
He teaches karate, grappling, filipino martial arts and Bruce Lee kickboxing to all ages and abilities six days a week.
Students can learn how to instigate the various martial arts from kickboxing to close quarter, weaponry and ground fighting.
Boh can be hired to book private or group lessons.
