Pompey got back to winning ways with a morale-boosting 2-0 success over Spurs today.
A first-half Jermain Defoe penalty and second goal of the season for Peter Crouch was enough to give the Blues their third league win of the campaign.

Harry Redknapp's men buried the ghost of a nightmare week, when they conceded 10 goals, with a dominant victory over the Londoners.

Defoe made no mistake from the spot against his former side after 34 minutes following a clear handball from Jermaine Jenas.

He turned provider for the second after 68 minutes, feeding Armand Traore whose shot was parried by Heurelho Gomes allowing Crouch to nod home.

The only minus point for Pompey was the late sending off of the impressive Lassana Diarra, who was given a second yellow card for a wreckless lunge on Benoit Assou-Ekotto deep in Spurs territory.

The win gives Pompey their third maximum of the campaign and lifts them to ninth in the table.

Well done, now keep it up don't be like always win 1 match then geet embarrassed the next,as always Jermaine was the man, never let him go,keep him at all costs, and well done Peter hopefully this will be the beginning of you having agood year.
1 match win against a bottom of the league team is not a morale booster,Hull beat Arseanal, that is a morale booster for them lets get something like that.
Well done again now keep it up.

A good win but there were far too many yellow cards!
Very little was seen of Glen Little and when he was replaced by the enigmatic John Utaka he failed to make use of the space given him by Assou-Ekotto!
As for Diarra's red card - why oh why did he rush in so recklessly like a headless chicken in the dying minutes of the game? Man of the match - must be between Richard Hughes and Armand Traore.

Well done boys. Now let's get the job done in Portugal on thursday and get another 3 points against Tony Pulis' Potterers.

Important win for us today and a clean sheet but Spurs were defo there for the taking. Without their keper it could have been 5.

Sol was immense today especially against abuse.

Little at least tried hard even if he is slow which is more than you can say about Utaka. How rubbish is he. Unbelievably bad.

On this performance Kranjkar might get back in the team on the right cos he sure he aint coming back on the left.

Campbell was superb today so was Belhadj i think i'd go for Belhadj as MOM. Maybe Utaka didn't go for the throat today but by the time he came on we were looking to kill the game and in that respect he did a good job. Hopefully people will stop panicking now, it's early in the season and far too soon to react the way people did over to bad results.

it was an important 3 points today, I should not be saying this, but I do feel a run in europe will hurt us in the league and would not be upset going down 3-o on thursday, my reasons for this are due to the lack of quality midfield players at fratton, a long term injury to Diarra would put us in a difficult position, with Huges, davies and Diop as the other central players, I dont think there is enough consistency left. if as stated in the press release today that our finances are not in a sh#t state and we are a club still looking to go forward, surely the acquisition of Appiah is a must. or do I lack belief.

Agree with steve the cabbie re sol but not utaka. He looks like he needs a taxi at all times cos he cant move very quickly on his own legs. Ship him out asap, maybe he can join Viafara and help take the scum down

It's a shame the rest of the squad havn't got the same attitude as Hughes, been over looked so far and as soon as Harry needs him comes in and gives 100% & was unlucky not to score.

We Can Do It

Today's Vote

Is Tony Adams right to make changes to the Pompey side who beat Blackburn?
Adams should stick to the side that earned him his first win at Fratton Park
He should only change things around if there are injuries
If Campbell and Kranjcar are fit they should start
Davis deserves a starting role after his heroics against Blackburn
With a heavy fixture schedule coming up, changes are needed
