Jordan Cross brings you all the action as it happened at Goodison Park.
Latest: Everton 0 Pompey 3

Everton: Howard, Baines, Yobo, Lescott, Jagielka, Arteta, Vaughan, Neville, Osman, Yakubu, Rodwell. Subs: Turner, Jacobsen, Valente, Anichebe, Kissock, Baxter, Wallace.
Pompey: James, Johnson, Kaboul, Campbell, Distin, Traore, Davis, Diop, Diarra, Crouch, Defoe. Subs: Ashdown, Lauren, Hreidarsson, Utaka, D Traore, Sahar, Mvuemba.

Pompey are unchanged as they go to Everton looking for their first points of the season and bid to avoid it becoming the club's worst start to a campaign since 1958. That means Jermain Defoe is over his virus which stopped him training this week and starts alongside.
Everton make one change as James Vaughan comes in for Jose Baxter. Pompey old boy Yakubu starts up front for the Toffees.

00: Pompey kick off.
01: It's immediately clear Pompey are playing a wing-back formation. 3-5-2 with Traore and Johnson in wide areas. Distin, Kaboul and Campbell the three centre halves and Diarra anchoring midfield behind Davis and Diop.
GOAL! 12: Pompey are in front with their first chance! Jermain Defoe receives Distin's long throw and holds off three blue shirts before spinning sharply and rolling a smart low finish past Howard.
14: Baines pulls down Johnson after a run down the line from the England man. Croucn heads Diarra's cross down but Everton clear.
17: Pompey are causing problems in wide areas. Johnson's raking cross is headed back across goal by Crouch to Defoe who fires a shot in which Howard superbly tips around the post.
22: Everton are so nearly back in it. Arteta volleys Yakubu's cross but James touches his effort onto the post and then somehow gathers the loose back with the Spanish midfielder about to tap the ball home.
29: Dogged defending from Traore denies Arteta from breaking clear.
31: Defoe fires in a powerful low drive from 20 yards which Howard gathers.
33: Baines' deep cross is headed back across goal by Vaughan but Kaboul somehow hooks the ball away with Yakubu about to tap into the open goal.
34: Everton are upping the pressure and Distin just does enough to put off Vaughan who misses another Baines cross.
35: Diarra fouls Neville but Rodwell heads over Arteta's delivery.
39: Traore skips away from Neville but his cross is blocked.
GOAL! 40: Pompey double their lead with another lovely goal. Johnson, again marauding forward, exhanges passes with Defoe and fires a smart, low finish past Howard.
Half-time: Everton 0 Pompey 2

46: Everton restart the match.
46: Drama 60 seconds after the restart as Everton win a soft penalty, apparently for a foul on Vaughan by Johnson, but Pompey fans are celebrating as James stands tall and keeps out Yakubu's effort. It's relentless stuff at Goodison.
55: Pompey's marauding wing-backs are being forced deeper as the home side turn up the heat.
57: Anichebe replaces Vaughan.
62: Johnson hauls down Baines after the left-back nutmegs the Blues man just outside the box. Crouch blocks Arteta's delivery.
GOAL! 69: Pompey have a third! It's a lovely move started by Defoe, he exchanges passes with Davis who backheels a return before the England man produces a delightful chip from 20 yards which comes down off the ball before Crouch nods in. Replays confirm Defoe's shot was over the line.
71: Baxter is on for Osman.
76: Utaka replaces Defoe.
77: Hreidarsson replaces Traore.
87: Baines is booked for a pull on Utaka.
90: Mvuemba replaces Davis.
Full-time: Everton 0 Pompey 3

Great result, well needed. Everton are no mugs and will be up there come the end of the season. Hope this will give the players a bit of belief and continue throughout the season. PUP

writing this off my phone, just left the stadium, what a game!
To be fair, we rode our luck at times at the back but the goals we're good, especially defoes first.
that will shut a few moaners up for a while. oh and Bozzie Boy, wheres the commitment?????? why didn't you get a ticket get up to the game! thats what i hate about this site, the lack of committed fans

Great result!! goals and a clean sheet, been saying for months we have missed Davis in midfield and today proved with a couple of games what he brings to the side he makes us tick.
Now i hope the doom merchants keep quite for a while, but i doubt it.
Said before the game this would be the point where people start to believe again.
Great for Defoe to get a couple and looks like playing 352 could be the way we play this year and if it gets results like this then happy days. PUP

When I saw Pompey's schedule I thought if they could get 2 points from the first 3 games they would be doing well, playing 3 teams from the top 5 is not an easy start to ANY season, but to end up with 3 points is just great, the team shows what character they have, please just keep it up for the rest of the season.
PUP.

We Can Do It

Today's Vote

Is Tony Adams right to make changes to the Pompey side who beat Blackburn?
Adams should stick to the side that earned him his first win at Fratton Park
He should only change things around if there are injuries
If Campbell and Kranjcar are fit they should start
Davis deserves a starting role after his heroics against Blackburn
With a heavy fixture schedule coming up, changes are needed
