Pompey cruised to a 5-0 victory over Nigerian champions Kano Pillars tonight.
The Blues never got out of second gear as they battered their opponents at the Abuja National Stadium.
A second-half double from Peter Crouch plus goals from John Utaka, Ben Sahar and Kanu did the damage.
It could easily have been more too, against a side who were non-league quality and didn't deliver any meaningful threat.
The big disappointment was the virtually empty stadium which greeted the Blues as they became the first Premier League team to play in west Africa.
There were barely a thousand people at the game, including the large police presence.
It appears word the FA Cup champions are in town hasn't spread to the masses.

Chelsea only attracted a few thousand in China so Pompey weren't the only ones not being supported.

According to all the hype from the news the other day it was suppose to be a sellout with everyone excited to see Pompey?.
Get the facts straight before you make up the stories, hopefully there will be more against Man U.

Robsquad I had a look on the Sky planner for tonight and the match isn't due to be shown on Channel 198. Be good if it is though, I was even thinking of subscribing to the Man Utd TV channel just to watch it. Don't think I could forgive myself if I did though!

Cheers woodsieboy64 I didn't realise it was on Pompey world. You saved me from the possibility of giving the Mancs 6 of my hard earned pounds.
I've checked Sentanta dave ranskum and it doesn't say it is on there either.

We Can Do It

Today's Vote

Is Tony Adams right to make changes to the Pompey side who beat Blackburn?
Adams should stick to the side that earned him his first win at Fratton Park
He should only change things around if there are injuries
If Campbell and Kranjcar are fit they should start
Davis deserves a starting role after his heroics against Blackburn
With a heavy fixture schedule coming up, changes are needed
