MARK McMAHON with the action as it happens in the Blues' Premier League finale.
Jamie Ashdown keeps his place in goal with David James not yet ready to return to first team action following his calf injury.

Noe Pamarot continues his rehabilitation from injury by being named in defence alongside captain Sylvain Distin.

Pedro Mendes is preferred to Sulley Muntari in the centre of midfield, while John Utaka has a chance to stake his claim for a starting role for the Cup final by being named on the right at the expense of Arnold Mvuemba.

Kanu parters Jermain Defoe in attack as Harry Redknapp opts for a 4-4-2 formation.

Pompey: Ashdown, Johnson, Diarra, Hreidarsson, Defoe, Distin, Pamarot, Utaka, Krnjcar, Kanu, Mendes.
Subs: Begovic, Baros, Muntari, Davis, Wilson.

Fulham: Keller, Konchesky, Kamara, Stalteri, Hughes, McBride, Bullard, Dempsey, Davies, Murphy, Hangeland.
Subs: Warner, Bocanegra, Healy, Nevland, Andreasen.

0-1

2 mins: Bullard's ball into the penalty area just to long for Kaamara.

4 mins: Ashdown saves brilliantly from Davies at his near post.

8 mins: Bullard fires well over from distance.

10 mins: Defoe's free-kick from 25 yards smacks against the Fulham wall.

13 mins: Kranjcar volleys the ball narrowly wide after some superb build-uop play involving Utaka, Diarra and Kanu.

18 mins: Kranjcar tries his luck from distance via a free-kick. He gets his effort on target, but Keller makes an easy save.

21 mins: Fulham's appeals for a penalty are waved away by referee Mark Clattenburg after Hreidarsson brings Dempsey down in the box.

25 mins: Kanu shrugs off the challenge of Stalteri, fired in a shot, but Hangeland blocks his goal-bound shot.

28: Dempsey robs Diarra of possession on the edge of the Pompey box, but there's nobody there to pick up his cross into the box.

29 mins: Bullard tries his luck from distance, but it's a shock that lacks accuracy.

33 mins: Sean Davis is given a rousing welcome by both Pompey and Fulham fans as he warms up along the touchline while Pedro Mendres receives tratement.

34 mins: Utaka gets the better of Konchesky but fires wide from a tight angle.

35 mins: Kranjcar tests Keller with a daisy-cutter from 25 yards but the Fulham keeper saves well to his right.

41 mins: A storming run out of defence by Johnson gives Defoe a clear chance on goal, but with Keller quick off his line, the England striker sees his shot end up in the Milton End.

44 mins: Defoe shapes up to shoot, but Hangeland pushes him out of the way and clears the ball to safety.

45 mins: Johnson's in-swinging free-kick takes a deflection off the Fulham wall and Keller makes the ball his at the second attempt.

46 mins: Mendes' effort from the edge of the box takes a deflection for Pompey's first corner of the match. Kranjcar then volleys over from the edge of the box from the resultant corner kick.

Half-time 0-0.

45 mins: Kranjcar goes for goal immediately after the restart, but his effort from the edge of the box fails to trouble Keller.

47 mins: Defoe is forced wide but still manages to get his shot on target.

51 mins: Bullard breaks free down the left but Distin is quick on the scene to mop up the danger.

52 mins: Defoe resumes free-kick-taking duties but his effort from the edge of the Fulham box ends up in the Fratton end.

54 mins: Fulham's bid to beat the drop intensifies, but Murphy is unable to get any power on Davies' cross and Ashdown comfortably gathers the ball.

56 mins: Krancjar's effort from the edge of the box is beaten away by the alert Kelley before Bullard fires his shot wide - end-to-end stuff at Fratton Park.

59 mins: Pompey scramble the ball away as McBride and Dempsey both try their luck with headers.

65 mins: Bullard sweeps up the danger as Defoe shapes up to shoot.

69 mins: At the other end, Bullard's free-kick is diverted wide for a Fulham corner.

71 mins: Both teams make changes. Pompey bring on Davis and Baros for Pedro Mendes and Kanu, while Nevland replaces Dempsey for Fulham.

73 mins: McBride's delicate attempt on goal is deflected wide as Pompey are put under pressure by Roy Hodgson's side with less than 20 minutes remaining.

75 mins: GOAL Danny Murphy scores for the Londoners - a free header from a Bullard cross from the right.

82 mins: Sulley Muntari replaces Diarra in the centre of the Pompey midfield.

84 mins: Andreasen comes on for Pompey old-boy Kamara in the Fulham forward line.

90 mins: Fulham stay up.

Yet another abysmal performance...and a manager who seems clearly to have lost the plot!

I can understand players not wanting to risk injury and perhaps miss the Cup Final...I can understand Redknapp not wanting to risk playing key team members...what I cannot understand is why, if we weren't worried about winning the last six matches, we didn't use those games to try to find a winning partnership up front for the Final? Two goals in the last six matches tells its own sorry story - and Defoe failed to score in each of those games. Surely, if we are restricted next week to four front men - Kanu, Baros, Utaka and Nugent - it made no sense to keep playing an out of form Defoe?

I hope we are good enough to win the Cup next week - I think we are - but on recent form we don't look at all convincing.

We must not underestimate Cardiff City - we cannot afford to assume we just have to turn up to collect the trophy!

But where will the winning goals come from...?

Once again the team failed to produce anything in the opponent's penalty area and until the substitutions a goalless draw was on the cards.
Poor defence resulted in the Fulham goal, Jamie Ashdown started to come for what was a goalkeeper's ball but stopped and went back to his line and Sean Davis was 'ball watching'.
Kanu spent most of the time on the fringe of the game and contributed nothing.
Absolutely everything crossed for this weekend at Wembley!

Today's Vote

How will Pompey fare against Cardiff in the FA Cup final?
Pompey are too good for them. We will win at a canter!
It will be tight, but Harry's boys will just nick it.
Cardiff will break Blues hearts and destroy the Cup dream!
It will go to the lottery of penalties and then it's anybody's guess!
