JORDAN CROSS with the action as it happened in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
Pre-match: Abide With Me was a bit of a mess with microphones failing, but nobody seems to bothered. Pompey are in party mood and the players are in the tunnel.

Harry Redknapp is nearly in tears as he leads Pompey out for their biggest match in the club's recent history.

Pompey fans launch into chants of 'In-ger-land' as Sir Bobby Robson is presented to the players.

Boos for both national anthems, unsurprising perhaps but a little sad nonethelss. It feels like England v Wales as well as Pompey v Cardiff.

Harry Redknapp is bubbling with emotion and hugs each of his players before the game. The talk is nearly over...

00: Pompey are all in blue with Cardiff in all black. Pompey kick off attacking the Cardiff fans in the East Stand.
00: A quick foul on Diarra lets Muntari have a pop from 30 yards. The shot is deflected and Enckelman saves.
02: James has to put a long ball out for a throw. Pompey clear the danger.
03: A few slips from the players on the zippy surface.
06: Another long throw from Capaldi and Mendes heads out for a corner.
11: Pompey are trying to be methodical in their play and there are a few snappy challenges flying in - from both sides.
13: Kranjcar is at the heart of most of Pompey's best stuff and a probing run ends with him knocking the ball just too far.
13: Big chance for Cardiff. Paul Parry breaks inside of Campbell from Ledley's pass and James makes a fine block.
14: Cardiff are asking the questions. Whittingham's shot is deflected just wide with James beaten.
15: Now Pompey are on the front foot. Muntari's free-kick is punched by Enckelman but only on to Distin, who just can't react to direct his header in to the open net.
19: Quality from Diarra leaves two Cardiff players for dead but he can't pick out Utaka's run.
20: Campbell heads a Cardiff free-kick behind for a corner. James gathers with confidence.
21: Have a look at your studs Utaka. It's the third time he has fallen over as he is forced to concede a foul against Capaldi.
23: Oh my word - one of the biggest misses in cup final history. Kanu produces real class to take Loovens out of the game with one touch and round Enckelman with the next from Muntari's cross, but somehow, somehow, he rolls the ball against the post and wide with the goal at his mercy.
24: Now Cardiff come back. Johnson fouls Ledley and Pompey just avoid to block a smart set-piece routine.
25: No let-up in the action as Cardiff win a corner, which Whittingham drifts out. It's high-octane stuff in football's showpiece event.
27: Whittingham's free-kick is headed just over by Johnson.
29: Parry is causing problems with his movement. James has to be quick off the line to deny him from a through ball.
33: Hreidarsson advances and finds Kanu. He cuts inside but miscues his shot from the edge of the box.
34: Pompey pressure as Johnson marauds forward and Enckelman just punches clear his cross. Then Mendes hits one from 30 yards but the Cardiff keeper gathers.
GOAL! 37: Pompey have the lead! Utaka does a number on Capaldi down the right and whips in a lovely little cross, Enckelman can only half-block and there is King Kanu to nip in ball in from a couple of yards. Pompey's blue army goes crazy and lift the roof off Wembley!
39: A brilliant block tackle from Campbell denies Hasselbaink.
40: Heart in the mouth time as Cardiff break three on two. Parry cuts in and crosses but McNaughton can't control his shot with the goal gaping.
44: 'Sol goes up to lift the FA, Wembley! Wembley,' roar the Pompey faithful. A little premature perhaps but the 25,000-plus travelling army are buzzing.
45: Hreidarsson goes into the book for what appears to be dissent.
45: Whittingham's free-kick is put behind for a corner.
45: Cardiff have a goal disallowed as Ledley puts in a corner. James flaps and Distin goes to clear, but Loovens blocks with his arm before lifting a shot into the net. Mike Dean is on the spot and awards a foul.
Half-time: Pompey 1 Cardiff 0.

46: Cardiff restart the game.
48: Mendes is justifying his inclusion with some calm passing to get Pompey moves started.
50: Utaka crunches Ledley and is given a talking to by ref Dean.
51: Cardiff fans are cheering as Johnson meets Whittingham's free-kick at the back post, but it's the side-netting only.
53: Pompey have a great chance for a second. Diarra marauds forward again and exchanges passes with Kranjcar, who returns the ball with a lovely flick, before cutting back to Kanu. The Nigerian has time but scuffs his shot and Loovens puts his chest in the way to block. Big opportunity.
55: Kranjcar is booked for a foul which stops Whittingham breaking clear.
56: Muntari thunders a chance just over from 30 yards.
61: Ramsey replaces Whittingham.
65: The pace is slowing for the first time in the match, but the feeling is there is more drama ahead yet.
68: Pompey are pressing through Diarra. He finds Kranjcar but the Croat slips.
69: Here comes the Noog. Utaka is replaced by David Nugent.
70: Hasselbaink is replaced by Steve Thompson.
71: Nugent breaks clear and fires a shot from a tight angle which Enckelman tips over.
73: Ledley fires well over with a speculative effort from distance.
74: The noise levels drop from the Pompey fans for the first time with the cup moving closer and closer with each passing minute.
75: Johnson continues to threaten from set-pieces but heads a Cardiff corner over.
78: Diop replaces Mendes, who is given a fine ovation.
79: Thompson's cross is put behind for a corner by Distin, which is headed over by Loovens.
81: Johnson kills Cardiff pressure by seeing the ball over the dead ball line.
83: Pompey break through Kranjcar who feeds Kanu, but McNaughton deals with his threat.
85: What a run from Distin! The defender charges 45 yards before just failing to get his shot off.
86: Baros is the final substitution for Pompey, replacing Kanu. Sinclair is on Rae for Cardiff.
88: Cardiff power forward through McNaughton and Ramsey, but Pompey somehow get the bodies in the way.
89: Kranjcar frees Baros, who wins a corner which Cardiff deal with.
90: Four minutes of stoppage time.
90: James collects a long punt. Seconds left and it's so tense.
90: Diarra is booked for a foul on Loovens. Cardiff charge forward and Campbell puts it behind for a corner - which James eventually gathers.
Full-time: Pompey 1 Cardiff 0. Pompey are FA Cup champions!

Well, here it is - 69 long years in the waiting and we are here: Pompey in the FA Cup final.
For all those fans who have followed the clubs through the dark days, repayment for their unwavering, unrelenting support.
Now their team stand 90 minutes from glory at the home of football, 90 minutes from immortality.
Reports this morning from the club's Windsor hotel say the squad are in upbeat, confident mood, but there is a steely focus coursing through the ranks.
Harry Redknapp is in fine form too as he approaches his finest hour in football.

Team news
The big news for Pompey is Pedro Mendes is in at the expense of Papa Bouba Diop. The Portuguese man will anchor the midfield in a 4-5-1 system. On the bench Pompey go with two strikers in Milan Baros and David Nugent.
No place for Robbie Fowler in the Cardiff squad as Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink partners Paul Parry up front. Young maestro Joe Ledley starts but there is no place in the starting 11 for the prodigious Aaron Ramsey.

Pompey: James, Johnson, Campbell, Distin, Hreidarsson, Utaka, Mendes, Diarra, Muntari, Kranjcar, Kanu. Subs: Ashdown, Pamarot, Diop, Nugent, Baros.
Cardiff: Enckelman, McNaughton, Capaldi, Johnson, Loovens, Whittingham, Rae, McPhail, Ledley, Parry, Hasselbaink.
Subs: Oakes, Purse, Thompson, Sinclair, Ramsey,

'Arry fer saint!!!!!!!!

That was one of the better FA Cup Finals! Not because Pompey won, but for the committment of both teams!

Cardiff played with fire in their bellies and springs in the backsides of their pants!

Pompey played with composure, worthy of the best sides in the world!

Haway the Muppets!

Lets be honest an average game for neutrals but for real fans us and Cardiff a true FA Cup final at last with real supporters on both sides for a change mixing before and after the game and staying til the end despite the result think we should all acknowledge the part Cardiff supporters payed in making it a day to remember. I saw people in tears at the final whistle and was close to it myself 40 years and more best moment in my life as a blue the missus recorded it for me to keep forever
