Pompey suffered Premier league humiliation at the hands of Manchester City as they went down to a 6-0 drubbing at Eastlands.
After the high of Thursday evening's UEFA Cup win over Vitoria Guimaraes, Harry Redknapp's men were brought crashing down to earth as City ran riot.

Brazilian striker Jo put his side on their way as he breezed in to open the scoring inside 13 minutes and it was 2-0 seven minutes later as Richard Dunne poked home from close range after some terrible defending at a corner.

Although Pompey briefly rallied as half-time approached and looked like they were ready to stage a recovery after the break, City scored the killer third goal just before the hour mark as Robinho tucked home with Pompey's defenders conspicuous by their absence.

Shaun Wright-Phillips made it 4-0, before substitutes Ched Evans and Gelson Fernandes completed the rout.

Absolute disgrace. There is no excuse for a player to put in less than 100% effort which was the case today with the majority of the team. They should be fined a week's wages for that display! Can't wait to hear the excuses from HR. Playing Thurs can't be one of them because Man City did as well. Selling Muntari and Mendes without replacing them with similar quality is coming back to bite PFC big time. I hope you realise that Storrie and Sascha, and do something about it in January !

We Can Do It

Today's Vote

Is Tony Adams right to make changes to the Pompey side who beat Blackburn?
Adams should stick to the side that earned him his first win at Fratton Park
He should only change things around if there are injuries
If Campbell and Kranjcar are fit they should start
Davis deserves a starting role after his heroics against Blackburn
With a heavy fixture schedule coming up, changes are needed
