Pompey rounded off their pre-season campaign with an eventually comfortable 4-1 win over Gosport tonight.
A healthy crowd of 2,575 turned out at Privett Park to see Gosport lad Matt Ritchie grab a hat-trick with Ben Sahar helping himself to the other goal.

It wasn't plain sailing for the Premier League side though, as Nathan Lynch levelled for the Sou
thern League outfit moments after Ritchie had opened the scoring.

Gosport matched a Blues team which included the likes of John Utaka, Martin Cranie, Lauren and Arnold Mvuemba in the first period.

But Pompey's superior fitness took over after the restart, as first Sahar and then Ritchie stepped up with three quickfire goals in nine minutes.

Now Harry Redknapp's men will put their pre-season programme to bed and focus on the serious business of collecting Premier League points, as they bid to upset Luis Felipe Scolari's first competitive game in charge of Chelsea on Sunday.

We Can Do It

Today's Vote

Is Tony Adams right to make changes to the Pompey side who beat Blackburn?
Adams should stick to the side that earned him his first win at Fratton Park
He should only change things around if there are injuries
If Campbell and Kranjcar are fit they should start
Davis deserves a starting role after his heroics against Blackburn
With a heavy fixture schedule coming up, changes are needed
