A 16-year-old motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital after suffering a serious road injury.
The young male motorcyclist struck a post on Locksheath Park Road, near Fareham, at about 5pm yesterday.

He was stabilised by paramedics who rushed to the scene.

The paramedics were concerned he might have suffered an injury to his spine.

Alison Brumfitt, spokeswoman for south central ambulance, said: 'We got a call at 5.15pm saying there had been an accident.

'We dispatched one rapid response vehicle and one ambulance, but then we were told that they needed a helicopter.

'There are concerns that there might have been spinal injury damage.'

The teenager was taken to Southampton General Hospital in the air ambulance at about 7pm.
