Supporters were left on platforms as services were too overcrowded, while hundreds of fans had to stand up for the entire journey.
Andrew Gover, from Cosham, said: 'They should have had a couple of extra services. They have had three months' notic
e and they should have provided more trains.'
Paul Cunningham, 27, from North End, added: 'They opened up first class for people to get on.
'But there's only so much you can do. We got on at Portsmouth Harbour because we knew we would get a seat.
'They should have laid on a couple more trains.
'They have got to anticipate how many people are coming.'
Phil Mant, 23, from Waterlooville, said despite the crowded trains the atmosphere on board services to London Waterloo was joyous.
But he added: 'At the last four stations nobody could get on. Everybody is entitled to a seat.
'Staff were very apologetic and they were aware it was busy but they should have put more trains on.'
Just last week The News revealed how two routes run by SWT from Portsmouth Harbour to Waterloo were among the 20 most overcrowded in the country.
No-one from SWT was available for comment.
