Road-rage spy-cam poles are rejected

A NEW weapon to combat road rage aimed at lollipop men and women has been rejected by Hampshire County Council.
Hi-tech lollipop poles with built-in video cameras to record violent outbursts from frustrated motorists are being trialled across the country.
But traffic teams from Hampshire County Council have decided not to order the poles, which cost £890 each.
The hi-tech lollipop was developed by a company which makes police and traffic cameras amid concerns by councils at the rising number of incidents of lollipop rage.
A spokesman from Hampshire council said there was no proof they reduce the number of attacks on lollipop people, although confirmed they would be 'interested' in seeing the results of a trial.
