Burly builders rolled up their sleeves to help give the sensory garden at Alverstoke Infants School a brand new look.
Building firm Rok has undertaken a host of community challenges across the region and this is just the latest project designed to give local communities a helping hand.
The team, based in Fareham, gave up their time free of charge on March 8 and descended on the Gosport school with spades and shovels in hand to give the existing garden a real makeover.
Hard at work, Rok team member Emmie Pritchett-Brown, said: 'We were thrilled to have been able to help with this project. Once the garden is finished I know it will bring so much pleasure and enjoyment to the children and staff at the school.'
The sensory garden will provide a relaxed environment for the children which will stimulate their senses through colour, texture, shapes, fragrances and sounds.
Miss Pritchett-Brown added: 'We want to be involved as much as we can with our local community and this project demonstrates our commitment to doing just that.'
Marion Clist, headteacher at Alverstoke Infant School, said: 'The sensory garden will be a lovely area for the children to play and learn.
'We would like to thank the team at Rok for giving up their time so willingly and for the fantastic job they have done for us.
'I look forward to the children being able to use the garden over the coming months.'
Rok is launching a competition in July which will see communities, schools and individuals win an eight-hour makeover on their building or home.
The eight-hour challenge is open to entries from organisations such as charities, schools and community groups and also to individual members of the public.
The dedicated staff from Rok will undertake tasks such as tidying grounds, building maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, plastering and decorating.
To apply for the Rok Eight Hour Community Challenge, applicants must describe the challenge and why it deserves to win.
