Residents and businesses are coming together for a street party to celebrate the Rainbow Centre's 18th birthday and raise funds for the charity.
Everyone is invited to the birthday bash on Saturday July 12, which will see the whole of West Street, Fareham, come out to play in aid of the charity that helps children with motor impairment conditions such as cerebral palsy.

The 'v live festival' will also be highlighting green issues and businesses will have the opportunity to get more involved in recycling as a way to make extra cash for the charity. Dove Recycling, in Titchfield Lane, Wickham, will be donating £20 from every ton of paper to the cause.

The street party will run from 10am to 6pm and run from the Brass Monkey to Woolworths.

There will be DJs from Ocean FM, local bands performing and even a Narnia set donated by the Apollo Theatre for children to experience.

Julie Woodward, community and events fundraiser for the Rainbow Centre, said: 'We are all really excited about the party. It is lovely to be able to work with local businesses and the community.

'Hopefully we can raise a lot of money for the Rainbow Centre from the day.'

The charity needs £40,000 a month to run its services and this is set to increase as it branches out to offer services to adult sufferers with mobility conditions such as multiple sclerosis.

Solicitors Warner Goodman will be holding a Beat The Buzzer competition. Family law solicitor Claire Knight, 33, said: 'It is a good, local cause and it's happening right on our doorstep and an important event in Fareham.'

The legal team will be challenging families to take part in a Beat the Buzzer competition, negotiating a tricky path of copper wire with a metal loop and there will be a smaller version for children to try their hand at too.

Family law solicitor Samantha Miles, 34, added: 'We're really looking forward to it.

'It will be a chance for children to challenge their mums and dads to have a go and win some great prizes – and we'll raise money for the Rainbow Centre at the same time.'
