THE streets of Fareham will be transformed into a festival of fun this summer with a street party in aid of children with cerebral palsy.
Staff at the Rainbow Centre are hosting the party to mark the charity's 18th birthday.
And young people from across the area are being asked to put their on thinking caps and come up with clever ideas to make the event go off with a bang.
Julie Woodward, the centre's fund-raising manager, said: 'The whole purpose of the project is to get young people aged 16 to 25 years driving this event, but we will also need the help of people of all ages and walks of life.
'We will work with them to provide support, but this is to be led by the volunteer committee.
'Fareham town centre people are working with us, and we are grateful for their support and providing the space. It is going to be a fantastic day that everyone can enjoy, and we urge people to come forward and show us what they can do.'
The Rainbow Centre is teaming up with the V Project, which set up to encourage volunteering among young people in the area.
The Rainbow V Live event, which is due to take place on July 12, will raise money for the charity that helps children with motor disorders, including cerebral palsy.
The V Project has already donated £10,000 to the centre to host the event.
Anyone who wants to take part is being asked to step up, from bands and solo musical acts to people with creative ideas about costumes and themes.
Ms Woodward added: 'We are also encouraging businesses to contact us and see how they can get involved.
'Businesses may need the help of an enthusiastic volunteer, either around the time of the event or longer-term. This event is for everyone in the community to enjoy and to show what a difference volunteers can make.'
