MUSICIANS from the Royal Marines School of Music entertained shoppers in Gunwharf Quays at the weekend.

The marines marched around the centre for an hour before stopping to chat with members of the public and have pictures taken with them by Spinnaker Tower.

Major Jon Ridley, director of music training, said: ‘Marching at Gunwharf Quays is one of the highlights of the year for the School of Music.

‘It’s a chance for us to get up close and personal with the public.

‘It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to give a taste of the music and entertainment everyone can expect to enjoy at the school’s biggest concert of the year.’

The musicians have recently completed their training at the Royal Marines School of Music, in Portsmouth.

They are now preparing for a concert on August 8.
