Boy George joins Isle of Wight Festival line up

Lessons and help for aspiring city artists at weekend Play Day event

Eighties pop star Boy George will kick off the Isle of Wight Festival next year.

It's been announced that the former Culture Club singer will headline the Thursday campers' night in the Big Top.

Festival organisers have also revealed that joining Pulp and headliners Foo Fighters on the main stage on Saturday will be Iggy and the Stooges, Seasick Steve, Hurts, Stornoway and Lissie.

The festival takes place at Seaclose Park, Newport, between June 10 and 12.

MAIN STAGE:

Friday June 10th: Kings of Leon with more acts to be announced soon.

Saturday June 11th: Foo Fighters, Pulp, Iggy and the Stooges, Seasick Steve, Hurts, Stornoway and Lissie.

Sunday 12th June: Kasabian, Beady Eye, The Script, Plan B, Pixie Lott, Two Door Cinema Club, James Walsh, plus a special guest appearance from Jeff Beck.

BIG TOP:

Thursday 9th June: Boy George.

Friday June 10th: Joan Jett & The Blackhearts.

Saturday June 11th Night: Tom Jones and British Pink Floyd Show.

Saturday June 11th Afternoon: Wild Beasts, The Vaccines and Semi Precious Weapons.

Sunday June 12th: Manic Street Preachers, Public Image Ltd, Cast, Hadouken.
