CLUBBING COLUMN: What's on this week

While BuggedOut is the big south coast festival this weekend for house and techno at Bognor Regis, there is plenty happening in Portsmouth to keep you busy if you're on a bit of a budget as we head into an inevitably expensive time of the year '“ Christmas of course!

Firstly this Sunday, Trash Arts, Portsmouth will be presenting their headline punk rock outfit Wonk Unit at The Old Barn, Milton.

The band are described as a fresh breath of life in the London punk scene by Art Rocker and so expect plenty of energy and plenty of distorted, catchy riffs if you’re attending! Supporting will be Pizzatramp, THE SLM and Captain Trips. Tickets will cost £6.60 (including booking fee) and doors will be open from 8pm until 11pm. On Monday evening, Underground South will be hosting a free drum and bass takeover at Three Cocktail Bar, Southsea with local DJs on the line-up such as Kenzie, Jarod Atkinson, Milli Cooper and Soul Intention. More information at https://www.facebook.com/events/329361027423270/

Also on Monday evening, Trash Arts return for Open Ya Mouth 12 at The Fat Fox, Albert Road for the Trash arts Christmas Party. Scott Jowett will be hosting the evening as Trash Arts celebrate Christmas with various raffles, prizes and surprises of course!

Open Ya Mouth is an evening dedicated to those who want to use the stage to voice their opinions in comedy, spoken word, hip hop rhymes and stories / poems. As usual free entry from 8pm until 11pm. More details at https://www.facebook.com/events/184287798697632/

Next Thursday, student night Connection hosted by DJ Pete Scathe will be moving from Popworld to Zanzi, Guildhall as its new home. Connection is a student evening that will feature plenty of indie, retro and electro anthems to get the weekend vibes starting early.
