Have your say

It’s a night that I’ve tracked in my column since its very first instalment and it’s back tonight.

Beats & Swing returns to the Wedgewood Rooms with another superb line-up.

It’s headlined by the impressive trip hop DJ Odjbox and another performer on the bill that is set to impress is Pompey electro swing DJ and radio presenter DJ Fauxlo.

After placing third in the recent BBC Radio 1 Superstar DJ Talent Search 2012, Fauxlo is without doubt one to watch in the coming months.

Charlie Sloth of BBC Radio 1Xtra said: ‘When she came into the room, I was afraid that girl was about to break something she had so much energy.’

The Southsea DJ has been playing across London and the south coast with a vast range of genres, from moombahton to electro swing.

She recently supported drum ‘n’ bass giant Netsky and is on course to play many more sets with DJs of his calibre.

Also on hand to get you moving will be Jamko - an electro swing DJ, producer and promoter based in Nottingham, taking vintage samples and fusing them with elements of modern dance music.

Plus Joe Black, The Junk Swingers and Sam Hatty will be involved in the night, which runs from 9pm until 3am.

Entry costs £7.

The longest running urban night on the walk returns tonight.

Club 8 holds another episode of Funk’d & Blush’d, for which the club will be expertly dissected by two of the best DJs on the walk.

Bar 8 will feature Mike Money playing the best in commercial, indie, dance, pop, rock and all the best anthems, while Club 8 will be controlled by the popular J-Fresh from Fire Radio.

He’ll have his fingers all over a mix of R‘n’B, hip-hop, grime, funk, dancehall and everything urban.

If it’s your birthday or you fancy becoming a VIP for the night, contact stuart@club-8.co.uk.

Entry costs £2 before 10.30pm, £4 before midnight and £6 after.
