Last week there were some truly amazing weekend parties.
This week , I’m throwing a curve ball. Forget work, college and uni, how about starting on a Sunday and partying throughout the week?
It’s amazing what is going on at our clubs midweek. So much, I would be horrified if you missed it. To break you in gently though, head down to The Registry on Sunday for Human Jukebox.
The Reg is urging all of you to delve into your, or maybe even your parents’, record collections. Bring your LPs on the night and if they get played you get a free drink. It’s as simple as that. Just make sure that Agadoo hasn’t found its way into Afrika Bambaataa. This all kicks off at 1pm and runs until 7pm. Entry is completely free.
On Monday night, to launch Liquid & Envy’s brand new evening session, Liquid Rocks present a huge Foam Party. Make sure you don’t wear your best togs as it is set to be quite a wet one. But ensure none of that foam gets in your ears because this night is going to be all about the music. Room one will feature electro, dub step, drum ‘n’ bass, urban and student anthems. While room two boosts the best retro, electro and 1980s and 1990s anthems.
Tickets for this night are available at liquidclubs.com/Portsmouth for £3. If you want one on the door it will cost £4. The night runs from 10pm until 2.30am.
We make our way back to Liquid on Thursday as Vodka Republic returns to showcase a very special guest. They present a special DJ Set from Porter Robinson. The electro-house master from North Carolina began producing at the age of 13, emulating sounds he heard from video games, especially the Japanese game Dance Dance Revolution. Now, at just 20, he is already a very well respected Producer and DJ.
Video DJ Will B will expertly warm-up the night with the massive new stage set. It’s like there’s a festival in Liquid every week. Envy is hosted by Owen Baxter putting on what is one of Portsmouth’s biggest urban events. All this under one roof. Tickets available from eskimo11.com and are £4.
