Have your say

Trick or treat, trick or treat. Give me grooves to move my feet.

Those who have been reading my column for a while now will know that I love this time of the year. Halloween is such a good excuse to get dressed up and party.

Of course, the clubs know this and subsequently you’ll get asphyxiated with gory choices. So, here are a few of my picks.

First off tonight, it may not be fancy dress but it’s a great chance to see the launch of a newly featured basement venue in Granada Road.

Phaze2 have recently developed their sound system with a rating of over 10k.

Their aim is to improve the general sound of nights in Portsmouth and they are setting all this in stone tonight.

The System Launch will show off a hand picked selection of Portsmouth’s very own producers and DJs, featuring Subtifuge from Perpetual Recordings, Mota and Vector from Inform Records and Sparxy from Bacon Dubs. Expect a night packed full of bass.

The night runs from 10pm until 3am and entry is free all night long.

The makers of It’s a Sin and Club NME are teaming up for a new night at the Wedgewood Rooms tomorrow night. The brand new alternative, punk and rock anthems night entitled Neon Ballroom is set and ready to rock its launch with a massive Halloween party.

Obviously, they’d like you to turn up looking as ghoulish as possible but don’t fear. If you are the one that ‘forgot’ to adorn the necessary alarming apparel, the Wedge will have people on hand to paint your face in whatever malicious mask you desire for free.

They promise the resident DJs will be a mix of local deck turners, musicians and a couple of the old Chaos DJs for good measure. Also appearing live will be the saucy Cyanide Girls.

Doors open at 11am and entry is £5 on the door.

Finally, Eskimo 11 are up to their usual tricks on Halloween night as they present a special, scary Big Night Out Halloween pub and club crawl.

If you are in Guildhall Walk and want to make the most of the night this is a must event. Eskimo 11 are going to take you on a crazy crawl through eight venues starting at Pure then on to the Lyberry, Skye, Yates, Club 8, Fuzzy and ending at Liquid and Envy providing something for absolutely everybody.

Fancy dress is essential. Think angels, devils, zombies, monsters, vampires or just drop-dead sexy.

Wristbands are still available for this mammoth night can be purchased from eskimo11.com/e-tickets costing £10 with a £1 booking fee.

Make sure you have a hell of a night and, I might see you on the other side.
