Happy New Year.
I am glad I haven’t had to go back to work after partying until 7am with Love Amplified on New Year’s Eve.
What an amazing way to welcome 2014. I look forward to all the events these guys have already got planned for this year.
For all of you that can still handle more, here are a few events worth trying out this week.
Tonight, Portsmouth’s biggest Friday night is back as The Eskimo Project return, taking over not one but two clubs as the Lyberry Bar and the Astoria become hosts for the night joining the two venues with a unique shisha garden.
Featuring music by DJ Owen B, Jayco, DJ Foxy and the Butler in four different areas of music you will be spoilt for choice.
There will also be drinks offers including a double vodka mixer £3.50, Jagerbombs £2 and VK’s only £2.
Entry from 9pm will start at £4 and will vary later on.
Also tonight It’s a Sin take over the Wedgewood Rooms for their first party of 2014 and entry is free all night until 2.30am.
Resident DJs Mikey Sparks and DJ Lemon will take on the main room playing a mix of pre-year 2000 party anthems and classics from 1990s indie, Britpop and dance.
Meanwhile, Thunderdome host the Edge of the Wedge with DJ Pete Scathe bringing you purely rock and metal all night long.
Tomorrow night, Amplified Sessions are once again fulfilling their weekly residency at The Astoria.
Tthis week they are giving their bank balance a rest and letting their residents shine.
Join them for a basement and garden party from 9.30pm with free entry before 11pm.
Well-known DJ duo The Business Partners and Snoop Dog’s right-hand man Ash Foster will be in the basement, while local favourite Sam Bylett and Portsmouth’s best DJ nominee Abbo take over the garden.
I have heard rumours of things to come from Love Amplified in 2014 and it is safe to say they are only going to be bigger and better.
Keep an eye out for upcoming events at loveamplified.com.
