Portsmouth’s clubs are packed with tricks and treats with gruesome nights to move your feet this Halloween.

You could literally walk into any club or bar in town this time of year and something spooky will probably be going on.

Here are my picks.

Tomorrow night is Halloween Chaos at the Wedgewood Rooms. This is being billed as Southsea’s biggest fancy dress party so make an effort and find something distinctively devilish to wear.

The venue, completely transformed into a horror set, will be controlled by the usual favourite residents DJs, Will Chump and DJ Lemon, who will be playing a variety of alternative anthems.

The Chaos Lounge will take over the Edge of the Wedge with DJ Ruby Soho providing a rock, metal, ska and punk session.

Entry is £6. This is the penultimate Chaos ever, so make the most of it.

One of my favourite nights ever gets the Halloween fancy dress treatment tomorrow night as Silent Disco kicks off at Little Johnny Russell’s.

In a nutshell, Silent Disco is two channels of amazing music and 300 sets of wireless headphones. Sounds strange, but this is one of the most fun and different nights out in town – even if it looks a little strange to onlookers.

Entry is £5 on the door.

One of Portsmouth’s mammoth events is back for a Halloween special on Monday night as Big Night Out goes all scary on us.

Eskimo 11 are dedicated to getting thousands of students together to party. A special wristband will get you on the infamous bar and club crawl, stopping off at The Lyberry, Pure, V-Bar, Yates’s and Fuzzy Duck and ending at Liquid & Envy.

Wristbands are available from The Lyberry and are £11.

Finally, Pure are continuing the Halloween festivities on Monday with a terrifying twist, they’re Calling All Zombies.

They’ve pulled out all the stops this year as the whole venue will be completely decked out with a gruesome theme. There will be a free photo-booth to take home strips of pictures of yourself and your friends, plus lots of prizes for best fancy dress and a zombie dance-offs.

Don’t worry, if you don’t have time to make yourself up like rotting flesh either, a make-up artist will be there to help you fit in with the undead.

Busy man Will Chump and DJ Tommy Leigh will be there to play the scariest sound track they can and all drinks are £1.50 before 11pm.

Entry is £3 all night – a bargain.
