Have your say

Last week I asked you all to contact me, letting me know what you do and where you go when you are out on the town.

From the response so far, it seems like you are all Guildhall Walk lovers, but one email reminded me of the Honest Politician, bringing back some good memories.

‘The Polly’ was a great student haunt back in the day, pumping out rock and pop music until the early hours.

The free pool tables at the back of the room were always a great excuse to start your evening there, but it is probably the happy hour that I remember most fondly.

So, with these great memories fresh in my mind, I’m going to make it my goal this week to get down to Elm Grove and see what The Honest Politician has to offer these days.

Keep emailing me at the address below with your favourite club nights and memories. Where should I be going?

Tomorrow night is a rather special one at the Wedgewood Rooms as Chaos returns for its first instalment of the year. This year they are coming with freebies so expect to see temporary tattoos, ice pops, lollipops, glow-sticks and more random items to make your alternative clubbing experience just that little bit better.

The Edge will be transformed into The Chaos lounge for the night, featuring loads of sofas, free Sega Mega Drives, classic tunes, retro Space Invaders, cool lighting and a proper cocktail menu to tantalise your taste buds.

One of my favourite things about Chaos is the value for money.

Entry costs just £5 and you can stay there until 3am dancing your socks off. Doors open at 10pm.

Bar 38 at Gunwharf Quays continues with the great Bang On Trend nights through 2011. Get down there tonight or tomorrow to join host Duncan Lee as he takes you through a night of house and r’n’b with some of the best cocktails and food in the harbour.

With all this reminiscing about being a student, there seems to be no better way to end this week’s column than with a top student night.

The fantastic organisers Eskimo 11 give you Fuzzy Logic, on Monday night at Liquid.

DJ Hatton will control the main room with student favourites, the chart’s best tunes and old-school and new-school anthems. Room two will be mixed up by Liquid & Envy mainstay DJ J Fresh. He will pump out all the best r’n’b, urban and underground play-lists.

Book your tickets online at liquidclubs.com/portsmouth and get in for just £3.50.
