Have your say

As the weekends quieten down in the run-up to Christmas, there are all the more great mid-week events.

You’ll wish you were off work this week because, after these scorchers, you’ll find it hard to get up in the morning.

You can celebrate the weekend tonight with It’s a Sin. This night now has some permanent guests across the way in the Edge of the Wedge. The Funktifino squad will be pumping all the best funk, soul, jazz and Motown out of the Edge speakers.

This is a great move in my opinion, giving you a place to really chill out and grab a breather from the madness of It’s a Sin.

The usual twosome, DJ Lemon and Spikey Mark will be playing a mix of pre-year 2000 party anthems and classic tunes from 1950s rock ‘n’ roll to 1990s indie, Britpop and dance – via all that was good, or shockingly bad, from 1980s pop and power ballads.

It’s a Sin kicks-off at 10pm and, as always, is totally free.

Monday night at Liquid has become the main student night for the big Portsmouth club and this week they are asking: ‘Have you got a WKD side?’

WKD is completely taking over Fuzzy Logic. Their legendary WKD bucking bottle bronco comes to town with some outrageous prizes for those that stay mounted the longest.

Drink deals are also aplenty. You can check out the full list by visiting liquidclubs.com/portsmouth and while you are there and get 25 per cent off of your general admission by ordering online.

Otherwise, entry is £6 on the door.

An extremely popular night returns to Little Johnny Russell’s on Thursday night. Admittedly it can be hard to find a decent night out on a Thursday but this is definitely one to try. It’s Hip Hop Karaoke.

It’s so much fun and a really original twist. Take the laces out of your Adidas shell toe trainers and ‘Walk This Way’.

Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or casual fan, every performance gets free booze. The evening’s winner will get their hands on some great prizes, not to mention everlasting LJR’s fame. SDM will be bringing the instrumental heat and they will provide the words.

The night runs from 8pm until late and is just £1 on the door.
