What a week this is going to be. We’ve got a massive night for those who love live bands (see more about Waster on the Gigs pages), a mid-week disco and one of the most well remembered children’s TV hosts and DJs will be spinning some retro tunes. I really am genuinely excited.

As you probably know, It’s a Sin is one of my favourite nights in Southsea. And tonight it is going to be better than it has ever been before as a legend comes our way.

Many of us (me included) grew-up with him and know him well from Top of the Pops, the Time Tunnel on Heart radio and CITV smash, Fun House. Yes, the master of the mullet, Pat Sharp is coming to the Wedgewood Rooms.

As you can probably guess, this is going to be a night of pure retro with the best from the 1980s, 90s and naughties for all the guilty pleasures you can handle. The main room will also be expertly commandeered by DJs Lemon and Sir Ben Mills.

The Edge of the Wedge sees the return of Spandex Control, where DJs Craig Belligerence and Spikey Mark will take you on a journey from glam rock to hair metal.

Entry costs just £3 and doors open at 11pm. My advice is to get there at 10pm!

If you are after a bit of excitement in you week, Pure are putting on their Dirty Disco for the rest of the summer on Tuesday nights.

This week, everyone who posts on the Pure Facebook wall will get free entry before 10.30pm.

The night is infamous for its drink deals in which most of your favourite beverages will be just £1.50.

Be sure to check out the Eskimo 11 text screen too. Text in shout outs, requests or just embarrass a mate for free. The screen will be carefully watched by DJ Owen B who will be playing the best hits and anthems and looking out for your requests.

Entry costs £3 before 11pm and £4 after.
