The annual fireworks display at Gunwharf Quays will be returning tonight to warm up Portsmouth’s night sky.

Visitors can look forward to breathtaking scenes of vibrant colours, as fireworks explode in time to a musical soundtrack over the harbour.

South coast radio station Wave 105 will be hosting the event and keeping the crowds entertained.

Nathan Sykes, former band member of The Wanted, will be there to perform his debut single Kiss Me Quick and new single Over And Over Again.

Last year’s X Factor finalist Andrea Faustini will also be there to sing for shoppers.

So that you can kick-start your Christmas shopping, there will be up to 60% off over 90 brands with stores open until 9pm.

Tempting treats will also be on hand to keep you going – there’ll be a barbecue on the terrace of The Old Customs House, toffee apples at the Jamie’s Italian ice-cream van and mulled wine and gingerbread outside Brasserie Blanc.

The event begins at 6pm. Additional car parking is available in Wickham Street car park and Portsmouth Park & Ride serivces will run until 9.45pm from The Hard Interchange.
