THE management of two leisure centres has been recognised with an award.
The Horizon Leisure Centres, a charitable trust which runs both Havant and Waterlooville leisure centres, has been given the prestigious Quest award.
Quest reviews how effective and efficient an organisation is and, following a visit from a mystery customer, the centres were monitored over a two-day period by an external assessor.
The facilities were inspected and members of staff from all levels of the organisation were interviewed.
Horizon Leisure Centres chief executive Howard Broad said: ‘Receiving the Quest award is a fantastic achievement.
‘The entire team has worked hard to ensure that all areas of our operation meet the strict criteria of Quest.
‘This recognition rewards their efforts and professional management of the centres and provides reassurance to the local community and our commitment to provide high standards of service’.
Cllr Andy Lenaghan, responsible for culture and community issues at Havant Borough Council, said: ‘We are delighted to be working in partnership with the centres to provide the high standard of leisure services for residents and of course our visitors to the borough.’
The HLC was established in 1997 and is a not-for-profit organisation.
