There are only a few days left for young dancers to get involved in the Elevate Summer Schools at The Point, Eastleigh.
Aimed at those aged 14 to 21 who are in professional training, Elevate is led by some of the country’s top dancers and choreographers and offers the chance to try a variety of dance styles – including break, acrobalance, hip hop and African dance. This year, the summer school includes day-long choreography workshops.
Elevate: Integrate gives disabled and non-disabled dancers aged 14 to 25 the chance to work together in warm-up classes, improvisation and contact work.
It is suitable for those with limited movement or verbal comprehension.
Dancers will work with one of the UK’s leading integrated professional companies, Stopgap Dance UK.
Elevate Summer School runs from August 4-8. Cost: £170 for the whole course, £40 for five morning classes, £40 for four evening classes, £110 for workshops.
Elevate: Integrate runs from August 11-15. The whole week costs £110. To apply, visit thepointeastleigh.co.uk.
