As the sun starts making more of an appearance, the Making Space team have been busily preparing for their annual Open Studios event.

Once a year the lead craft organisation in Hampshire welcomes visitors from far and wide through its doors over a weekend in May.

The charity creates opportunities for people to enjoy and take part in high quality craft.

Through the work it does, Making Space helps to expand the understanding of what craft is, does and can be.

Open Studios is a celebration of creative talent and will include glass, painting, photography, textiles, printmaking and gilding.

Making Space hosts two teaching spaces and exhibitions throughout the building will showcase recent community projects and student work.

There will be a chance to ‘Meet the Maker’ as studio tenants will also be on hand over the weekend to chat to guests about their work, ideas and processes. The event coincides with the local May Days Art Trail.

event is free to attend with free parking and refreshments available.
