HER music has earned her the top spot in the classical album charts, and now saxophonist Amy Dickson will be thrilling crowds at the South Coast Proms.
The acclaimed musician is starring in the military music show, which takes place in Portsmouth in July.
Amy will appear on stage with 100 musicians from the combined Royal Marines Bands of Portsmouth and HMS Collingwood.
She is the guest soloist at the three-hour show at Whale Island, and has just reached number one with her new recording Dusk and Dawn.
Captain Steve Green is one of the event organisers.
He said: ‘Amy is an amazing musician and the bands are very much looking forward to performing with her.
‘We are delighted that she now tops the classical album charts and it should prove a timely boost to the proms concerts which feature a wide variety of music played by top-class military musicians.’
The South Coast Proms take place on July 5 and July 6.
Thousands of people are expected to enjoy a picnic in the grounds of the Royal Navy’s HMS Excellent, while enjoying a stunning programme of music.
Gates open at 5pm, and pre-concert entertainment takes place from 6pm until 8pm.
The massed bands perform from 8pm and 10pm.
There will also be an aerobatic display and a performance from the Military Wives Choir.
