It’s not the end of long summer days and music in the sun quite yet, as Bestival, one of the UK’s best-loved festivals and the last major festival of the summer, kicked off on the Isle Of Wight last night.
Heading the sun-drenched Thursday evening line-up was M.I.A, with other acts including The Correspondents, Sunday Best Forum Allstars, Daisy & Lewis and Courtney Pine.
Running until Sunday, there’s a wealth of live entertainment and musicians taking to the stages at Robin Hill Country Park, near Newport, including Fatboy Slim tonight, Snoop Dogg tomorrow and Elton John on Sunday.
Also joining them in the line-up John Newman, Rudimental, Jessie Ware and Sinead O’Connor.
There are hundreds of bands and artists appearing across a variety of stages including the main stage, Big Top, The Port, Bollywood and Replay With Rob da Bank.
Others include The Knees-Up Tent, Grand Palace of Entertainment, Tomorrow’s World, The Bandstand, Temple Island, Polka Tent and Club Dada.
n Tickets are almost sold out and cost £127 (teen) to £326 (adult premium camping). A basic adult ticket costs £180.
