Monday’s concert in the Portsmouth Chamber Music series at the Guildhall is billed as A Celebration of Peter Cropper (7.30pm).

It was to have marked the 70th birthday of the founder of Music in the Round, the organisation that gave rise to the Portsmouth concerts, but the billing changed after Peter’s death in May.

The programme is unchanged, consisting of piano trios by Schubert (in E flat) and Beethoven (the Archduke), both close to Peter’s heart, but his regular partners, Moray Welsh (cello) and Martin Roscoe (piano) are now joined by Benjamin Nabarro.

He is also a familiar figure as leader of Music in the Round’s resident Ensemble 360.

Tickets cost £16 (concessions £14) from the Guildhall on 0844 453 9028 or portsmouthguildhall.org.uk.
