All the focus this week has been around the World Cup in Brazil, after England’s effort last Saturday and last night.
Whether England win or lose there is plenty going on that’s worth getting out and about for this weekend.
Starting tonight at The Barn from 7pm until 1.30am with Xylem presents: Jordan Suckley.
Jordan came to everyone’s attention through the BBC Radio One, where he became part of the ‘In new DJs we trust’ rotation and gained a residency.
He has earned support from DJs such as Armin Van Buuren, Paul Oakenfold and Paul Van Dyk and would normally be found at events such as Global Gathering, Creamfields and Slinky but tonight he is in Portsmouth.
Supporting him will be local Trance talents like Dan Thompson, Ian O’Shea and Luke & Joel Heaton.
Advance tickets are £8 or £10 on the door.
Tomorrow night at 6pm the draw bridge drops at Southsea Castle inviting everybody in for a one night only Saturday edition of The Champagne Bar until 10pm.
Head down, grab some champers and enjoy the atmosphere as you sit in the sunshine and the perfectly fitting music washes away the working week.
Or try one of their delicious food platters.
Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to book a table as these go quickly.
Entry is free all evening, so invite friends or even bring the kids as this is a family friendly place.
Alternatively head over to The Wedgewood Rooms from 9pm until 2am for Beats & Swing’s First Day of Summer.
After a successful stint over at the Isle of Wight Festival they are back in Portsmouth with my favourite Electro Swing night.
They have invited special guests Stereo MC’s with MC Fivealive for a DJ set, with support coming from Gypsy Hill, Tom Mayhem, The Random Scarves and Sam Hatty.
I honestly can’t express enough how fun and unique these nights are and as tickets are only £8 it’s worth finding out for yourself.
