Smooth sailing for Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra at Portsmouth Guildhall

Have your say

Mutiny in the Park last weekend has got to be the highlight of my year so far. Considering it was the first of its kind in Portsmouth the organisers did a brilliant job. I for one had an amazing time, and despite the weather forecast not looking great the sunshine stayed out all day. Roll on next year.

Following on from one of the most memorable sets of Mutiny, Chris Vaux and Simon Blann team up again tomorrow for Amplified Classics at The Astoria from 10pm until 2am.

If you missed their set last weekend then it is well worth paying the entry fee to see these guys as you won’t be disappointed. I can guarantee they will have you dancing like crazy – generally speaking you can’t keep these boys still either. Joining them will be resident DJ Abbo. Tickets are £5 from Resident Advisor.

Also tomorrow, Throwback celebrates turning one this month so are throwing a birthday jam at Bar 50 Six on Albert Road. Celebrating in style, they will be taking over two floors and filling them with the best funk, soul and hip hop they can find.

The Throwback resident DJs will be heading this up with special guests Frank Costa, Pimpernel Jones, Towa and Mike Jackson.

Expect their usual house party vibes with a little bit of added birthday cheer.

Join them from 8pm until 1am, and as a special birthday gift, entry is free.

Finally, my last stop for Saturday night from 7pm until 1.30am is The Barn behind The Milton Arms where they have invited popular trance DJ Lisa Lashes.

Lisa is known as The World’s Number One Female DJ after being the only female to be considered in the top 10 DJs in the world by DJ Magazine.

She is best known for mixing numerous Euphoria albums along with her Lashed dance music events.

Joining her in the main room with all styles of trance will be DJs Dan Thompson, Voodoo Junky, Scottish and Gimo. Meanwhile hard-house support in room two will come from Bry Randall, Steve Hawkins and Davwarth.

This event has limited capacity and is all set to sell out, buy your tickets from for just £10.
