Well last weekend we welcomed yet another festival to our lovely little home town.
Victorious festival blew me away this year – it was so well organised, with an amazing line up and a great mixture to keep everybody happy. I am yet to hear a bad word about the two-day festival that took over Southsea.
They have now set the bar for many festivals to come. I was hugely impressed with the COR tent, the Monkey Love Stunt Team at the skate park and the Beats & Swing tent.
Tonight though we celebrate Purrmotions second birthday: The Cat’s Soiree from 8pm until 2am.
Everybody loves a secret party and keeping with tradition, this birthday party will have the location announced on the day.
I can only assume that they will be covering everybody in their infamous whiskers, and rumour has it the venue will be decorated from head-to-toe with lots of surprises in store.
It also seems they have something for everyone’s tastes DJ wise with a line-up featuring names like Gus Emmett, Charlie Fox, Damon Sirena, Chris Vaux and Ash Foster.
Tickets are £5 available from next.fatsoma.com.
Finally, the wait is over for the return of the Glasshaus.
Tomorrow, Amplified at the Beach is back, from 3pm until 10.30pm, taking over at The Pyramids after they have waited patiently for building and repair work from the storms at the start of the year to be completed.
That also means they will be bringing with them some headline DJs. Defected DJs Franky Rizardo and Sonny Fodera fit that description down to a T. They will be joined, of course, by resident duo Soul Divide and Abbo. Taking over the view will be a collection of local talent, including DJs Alex Fowlie, Scottish and Brandon Lilly.
This will obviously be accompanied by an after party at The Astoria from 10pm until 2am, with yet another headline DJ. How does OFF Recording’s Martin Ikin sound? Add The Business Partners in and you have yourself a party!
Day party tickets are £10 and after party tickets are £4 available from Resident Advisor.
