Have your say

Last weekend it was nice to do something a bit different as I went to Icebreaker Festival on Albert Road. The highlights for me were Slick Minded Individuals and Deluxe Flamingos. A massive well done to all those who were involved in the organisation and event itself.

This weekend, Saturday night looks to be pretty action-packed too.

Starting things off, we have the return of Amplified Rendezvous with a selection of small intimate parties that will be taking place back where they used to be at Drift Bar from 10pm until 3am.

After a two-year break the team have been digging deep and looking into some of the most sought after up-and-coming acts that are desperately close to hitting the big time. Wouldn’t you like to be able to say you saw huge international DJs before they were famous, and give recognition to some serious talent that people need to shout about? Previous DJs include Shadow Child, Reset Robot and Kate Lawler.

This week they bring you rising star Will Marshall, with support from Fred Symonds, Ash Foster and Alex Fowlie.

Tickets are available from Resident Advisor for £5 but there are only 150.

Also tomorrow night, The Fleet on Guildhall Walk is being taken over by The Breakfast Club.

I am looking forward to checking this night out as soon as possible, especially as it has the word breakfast in the event title – and not forgetting they are also booking some pretty massive DJs and bringing them along to Portsmouth for your listening pleasure.

From midnight until 6am you can get involved and they have booked super star DJ Julio Bashmore to provide some of the soundtrack for the evening.

Joining him will be DJs Billy Oz and Alex James from Concrete Music.

As with the others, there is a very limited capacity on this event and this is set to sell out. Tickets are available from Resident Advisor for £15.

The first rule of The Breakfast Club is: You do not talk about The Breakfast Club. Does anybody know the second rule?
