This weekend is one of those times where there is a whole load of variety of events going on.
As far as I can see there are some pretty decent nights happening, covering a wide range of musical genres, so this should keep everyone happy.
Firstly, tonight at The Old Barn from 8.30pm until 1.30am, Brummie from the management team is celebrating a birthday. Firstly, happy birthday to you!
Now it wouldn’t be much of a celebration if the event for tonight wasn’t right up his street, so off course it will be his favourite – drum and bass.
To headline the occasion they have invited Lynx from Hospital Records who is one of the hottest up and coming DJs in the game at the moment. He’s a DJ who’s not afraid of breaking the mould with his innovative edge.
Supporting him will be some talented MCs such as Freestyle, Master X and Side Kick, along with some epic local talent of the DJ variety: Lindsey Spinzee, Philosipha, Banksy, RJM and Pabba.
Head down and join the party. Tickets are £7 advance, more on the door
Also tonight, Thunderdome is back at The Edge of the Wedge from 8pm until 2am, hosted by last year’s Best DJ winner from The Guide Awards, Pete Scathe.
While he brings you the best in all that is rock and metal, the crazy chaps from It’s a Sin will be providing their usual shade of retro in the Wedge.
Last time I went along to this event I was transported back to my youth, and surprisingly remembered all the lyrics – and unfortunately I also rememberered all of the terrible dance moves.
Entry is free all night.
Tomorrow night, the Slug & Lettuce on Palmerston Road is preparing to get in touch with its soulful side as it has reached the time of Soulful Saturday.
From 9pm until 1am join DJs Tony Davis and Tony Broad as they plan on getting you in the soulful groove.
Entry is free all night and I hear there are some pretty good cocktail offers.
