Last weekend I managed to make it down to The Old Barn in Milton for their all day event – and what a blinder that was!

There were so many people having a good time with such a great selection of local DJs, all getting involved to help make the event such a huge success.

Hats off to Chris Vaux for his usual skills in event organising.

Tonight , The Mutiny team are back with force and taking on Portsmouth Guildhall from 9pm.

After the success of their festival at Fontwell in the summer they warned you early on to keep tonight free and it has slowly crept up on us.

So, if you went to the festival then you would be silly to miss the big reunion.

After they stole the show on the mainstage , Shy FX and Stamina MC are set to be tonight’s headline acts, with special support from the Warehouse Big Top’s performer, My Nu Leng.

Not only that, they have just announced that they will also have an appearance from Kry Wolf – and we all know how much he loves to party.

As usual they will have an after party at the nearby The Fleet pub with DJ sets from Foor and Soul Divide.

Tickets are £10 or £6 for students.

It seems like this will also be another weekend dedicated to making sure the university freshers know what Portsmouth has to offer, as from 9pm on Sunday, Portsmouth Guildhall will be under siege again and overrun by newly-minted students as the Portsmouth Uni Freshers’ Ball takes place.

As usual, the organisers have gone all out to make this a night to remember as they have invited international man of mystery, Jaguar Skills to headline the event.

Hosting the night will be Club MTV Global residents Rewire and Varski.

If you want to see the kind of experience you are in for then take a look at last year’s video online at vimeo.com/107828996 .

Keeping up with appearances there will be the standard no trainers rule.

It’s a ball - so dress for the occasion.
