Club Scene with Sam Cherry

While many have probably spent most of their money pleasing the other half this week for Valentines Day, there are plenty of events going on for those who are single and for those couples who'd rather party instead.

Kicking things off this week, tonight, fresh promoters Elevate Sounds will be hosting a night of house and techno at The Old Barn, Milton. The line-up will see a bill up-and-coming DJs in our local scene including Flatline, Drift, Lista, Howman, Piramyd and MCB. Entry will cost £5 and the doors will be open from 7pm until 1.30am. On the drum and bass front however, Ransaked Records will be hosting a free night of pure underground jungle/drum and bass vibes at The Cueball Club in Fratton. The line-up will see MC ODOB joined by DJs Replay, NuOlogy, Baker, High T, Altex, Havok, Foreman, Zork and Nooch. Expect plenty of dark rolling tunes as the DJs takeover! As usual, DJ Pete Scathe will be hosting Wolf Cub Club at The Edge of The wedge as well tonight presenting his usual flavour of indie and alternative hits in his DJ sets. Entry is free from 11pm until 2am with more details at facebook.com

Tomorrow night, Concrete Music return to Portsmouth for their second outing of the year at Envy nightclub, Guildhall, as they present their headliner AJ Tracey – an exciting new grime artist from west London.

Doors open from 11pm until 3am and AJ Tracey will be joined by Concrete residents as well as his tour support – this is a big one for Portsmouth’s grime scene!
