Music by Dvorak frames virtuoso works for violin and orchestra by French composers in the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s Portsmouth Guildhall concert with conductor Jose Serebrier on Friday.

Swiss violinist Rachel Kolly D’Alba, whose playing has been described as ‘like a throwback to a golden age when making music felt like an act of celebration’, will be soloist in Chausson’s Poeme and the Introduction And Rondo Capriccioso by Saint-Saens.

Dvorak will be represented by his Legends and Symphony No 8.

Tickets cost £25 to £15 (concessions available): (0844) 847 2362 or portsmouthguildhall.org.uk.
